We had ourselves a merry little Christmas..

So despite the fact that Tyler had to work on Christmas, we had ourselves a splendid day.

Here's our ornamentless tree and gifts.

Tyler walking out from the bedroom.

Excited me. Totally wasn't expecting to see a new laptop.

Still excited opening my Jim Shore basset hound.

Trash. Ha ha.

Bentley deciding he wanted to check out the laptop.

Gab begging for some Christmas candy. (and Isy watching cautiously in the background.)

We really had a blast. The pups got new blankets a few weeks earlier. My mom got a fancy Keurig. No, we don't drink coffee, but she liked the idea of being able to heat up water and I think I'll profit from the cider and hot cocoa. She also got a pillow pet and lotsa chocolate.
Tyler and I get to share a new laptop!! Our old one was ready to crash so we were pleasantly surprised by this. I also got alot of kitchen stuff to start building my red kitchen collection. Tyler got alot of Batman stuff including a Batman robe my mom and I made for him.

We did our usual and went out for some IHOP then came home and went back to bed.
Tyler went to work then came home and had a delicious Christmas meal.
My mom made filet's with a crab hollondaise sauce. Yum.

I hope you all had an absolutely fantastic Christmas!!

Stupid Google.

Okay, before Google tries to remove me from all my accounts I'll specify. I love Gmail. I love Blogger. I love Google+.
In all, I love Google!

I just wish they would have given me a little warning...

So when I signed up for Google+ it already linked a whole gaggle of images (like the word choice?) that I didn't want or need on there. So I figured I could delete them. Little did I know it removed a whole mass of images from thee blog.

So I'm sorry if you are looking back through the blogs. I promise to go through over the next week and try to get pictures back up.

Thanks for hanging in there during this unexpected technical difficulty.

Life is good!

Our internet is having some technical difficulties so I'm phone updating with some fantastic details of this glorious week!

First update: Tyler has a new job! He has jumped ships and is now a 7-11 employee! He's now closer to home and will have better hours! Whoop woop!

Second update: Okay it's more of a random do da we did. We went to Benihana's for the next to last day of my birthday month meal and it was delicious!

Third update: Last week I had a few job interviews. One said they'd call back sometime this week and we hadn't heard anything so we thought we were up for another let down. But then (!!!) tonight (or last night depending how you look at this) at 9:45 I got a call offering me the job! Yay for employment! I start Monday!

Final update: Tyler and I have officially been married for 3 delightful months!!

So to summarize all thee awesomeness, life is good!

This will be a great week!

Random little update since my last mopey post.

I have 2 interviews scheduled this week so far!
One I've wanted for a long time and the other I am really excited for!
And I also have a very promising job lead for another!
Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Another year older, aye?!

Okay, so I really do feel older.
But in a good way. I feel like I am finally in the best years of my life and I look forward to living it to the fullest.

I must apologize though.
I shall receive and epic F on my picture taking report card.
Epic fail.
I certainly didn't take near as many photos like I wanted but I got a few to capture thee moment.

I woke up Saturday to find myself some glorious balloons.
You may be saying to yourself, "Why Saturday?" when in fact my birthday wasn't til Sunday, so I shall give you a mini review in the life of Megan.
Those of you who know me best are already aware of this little fact.
My birthday is celebrated the WHOLE month of September.
Spoiled. Only child. Persuasive.
The WHOLE month!
Done. Period. Poof.

Now let's move on.

So after the discovery of balloons, we went to Rodizio Grill.
We don't get to go here very often because of it being oober expensive, but the discover of a free birthday meal gave us a fantastic excuse.
Here's Tyler and I, basking in our fatness.

Even though my mother refused a picture, I still caught her in the act of Majong-ing.
Ha ha.

Our little table flipper. Green means keep filling our bellies.
Red. Thee obvious sign of well-fed, happy, fat people.

On Sunday I woke up to find some gifts, a cake, and some flowers that Tyler snuck out to surprise me with.
Picked myself a good man, aye? :)

Sadly I was pretty spacey and forgot to get a picture of all the wrapped gifts and the cake.
Tyler got me a new Incubus CD which my ears have been enjoying.
My mom got me some new jeans and tanks and this pretty decorative perfume bottle.

She also got me this Jim Shore Little Mermaid figurine.
She went for a Little Mermaid theme with the cake and the balloons as well.
Perhaps it's because I told her that the scene in the dress made me think of Tyler and myself.

All in all, it has been a fun birthday!

I'd like to give up.
But I know I can't.
So thee job hunt continues.
Hope my birthday weekend starts to pick up.

I can't wait!!

So I was playing around tonight and came across a photo morphing site. It really caught my eye because I was able to morph a picture of Tyler and a picture of myself to see what a future kiddie will look like.
And if I may say so myself, we will certainly have some gorgeous babies!

Take a look!

And just to prevent any rumorage, no we are not expecting.
But it doesn't hurt to dream about the future a little, right?

I can honestly say I CAN'T WAIT!!

We will ALWAYS remember..

I can't believe it has already been 10 years..

So I've been trying to avoid all of the regular TV channels because I hate the reminder of all the depressing facts from 9/11. I know I will always remember that day, and I will always hold a special place in my heart for all those who lost their lives and their families.

I guess I try to focus more on the positive that came from that day. Our country came together and united for a cause. We will not shrivel away and shrink in fear. We will stand strong as one. The heroes we have discovered, from those that ran in when everyone else ran out to all the service men and women that fight to defend and honor our country everyday. And my own personal views, knowing that we will be united again one day with those we've lost.

The events from 9/11 will always be a part of us.

United we stand forever.

God bless the USA.

Interesting..

This has certainly been an interesting week. Major drama has kept me down for the most part. It's sad when you learn about some people's true colors. Luckily for me I have a loving a supportive husband who stands up for me and loves me no matter what.

But on the bright side, I had my job interview today and I should be hearing the results in the next 2 days. Keep your fingers crossed. I'll update you when I find out.

As many of you may have noticed there have been some major blogging changes. Look around and let me know what you think.

There are more to come but I have to pace myself as other spots in my life are under construction as well. Still job hunting but I have a second interview for one I really want within the next week so please keep your fingers crossed and keep me in your prayers.

Also amongst the construction, my hair has regained its natural color... See..?!
Tyler is totally loving it, ha ha.

Now as to finish the construction of the basement clean-up, and bathroom redo.

Thee Job Search.

Megan Lee Bearfield-Shinney
Syracuse, UT. 84075
August 24, 2011
To Whom It May Concern:
My name is Megan and I am seeking the opportunity to join your company. I strive to help improve the lives of others. I love being the point of contact for customers and clients. I have experience in customer service, always letting the customer leave knowing that I care about their situation and that their needs have been fully addressed. It is important to me that the people whom I work with feel important and like an individual, not just another part of the job. I am detail-oriented and strongly believe in completing tasks correctly the first time, every time. I feel it is my duty to know that those around me have been taken care of and know they can rely on me to address any further concerns that may arise.
I am detail-oriented. For example, as a customer service representative, I had to review all aspects in the accounts I handled to ensure they would continue to function properly. As a result, I found other possible account issues and was able to retain several credit account customers.
I have strong customer service skills. An example of this is, as a customer service representative, it was my responsibility to assist customers in all inquiries they had regarding their accounts. As a result, I had many customers request to work with me specifically for any further questions on their account.
I am efficient with computer programs. In my previous employment, I had to work with several computer programs such as Microsoft Office, USPS programs, Internet Explorer, and other programs. As a result, I was chosen for further training courses to learn new or test new programs, and selected to assist with helping other employees.
It would be a pleasure to meet with you so that I might demonstrate how my abilities fit your needs precisely.
If you will contact me at mlshinney@hotmail.com, we can schedule an interview.
Sincerely,

Megan Lee Bearfield-Shinney

Date Night: pt. 2

This last week has been so chaotic and crazy that I hadn't taken the time to post of our recent adventure. We were planning on using our movie passes to go see Captain America, but I wasn't much in the mood of sitting in a theater. So instead, while wandering through Hobby Lobby we came across some styrofoam mannequin heads. We'd been talking for a while about how we wish we knew where we could find some to paint and such, and that it exactly what we did!

This is the before shot of my mannequin head. Tyler forgot to get one of his but reminded me before I started.

Here's Tyler painting his mannequin head.

Such a cutie!

Tyler's end result: Joker the mannequin head.
That Batman loving fruitloop of mine. :)

My end result was a sugar skull look for manne the head.

I'm very pleased with how they turned out and can't wait to start another. (sidenote: Tyler has already started another one. I have created a monster.)

And at the end of our little date night, I felt we needed a picture of us, despite how odd we looked.

Hope you enjoyed!

Carlee: God be with you 'til we meet again.

Today we had to make the tough decision of putting our poodle to sleep. She's been apart of half of my life and it was very difficult to watch her go. She had been going rapidly down hill over the last two weeks so we made an appointment to get her seen, knowing in the back of our minds what we needed to do. The vet confirmed what we thought, that she had a rapidly aggressive cancer growing throughout her and that her organs were starting to shut down. They asked us what we wanted to do and we let them know that we didn't want her to suffer anymore. They took us back to a nice room where we were able to say our goodbyes and let her go. She was such a great and loving member of the family and we will miss her so.

A friend sent me the following:

The Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food and water and sunshine. Our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals that had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happily and contend, except for one small thing: they miss someone very special to them who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. The bright eyes are intent, the eager body quivers. Suddenly they begin to break away from the group, flying over the green grass, faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face, your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.

It will be difficult to wake up knowing she is no longer here on earth with us but I am truly happy to know that I will see her again one day. And I know she is truly happy being reunited with her best friend, my grandma, so they can take naps together again. I love you Carlee. God be with you 'til we meet again.
